I was raised on a farm in Silverton, a small town in the Texas panhandle. The farm I grew up in did not resemble any of the books that you would read about farms where the kids are awakened by the rooster crowing in the morning and would have to go feed the cows before breakfast and gather the chicken eggs before they would go to the one-room schoolhouse on a hill. Instead my day was just like most other kids until 3PM when we got out of school, then we had to go feed the cows, or drive a tractor, or move irrigation pipe until it got dark, and then go home and do homework until it was time to go to bed.
After turning 18, getting my Eagle Scout rank from the Boy Scouts, and graduating from high school, I went to Texas Tech for 5 years to get my bachelors, taking the minimum course hours to still be a full time student while working one to two part time jobs. I finally graduated at 23 and have turned Lubbock Texas into my home.
From anyone out there who I've lost contact with who has stumbled upon my website and wants to get in touch, just send an email to i@milescomer.com and I look forward to hearing from you, I hope the years have treated you as well as they have me.
