Some interesting challenges:
The many classes here at the university,
The ability to program "Hello World".
Having to learn Visual Basic in a weekend for my "Advanced Visual Basic (ISQS
3345)" class because I took a different class than everyone else, and I still
got a B.
Designing a system in one class while learning how to manage it in another.
Finding a partner for group work by posting a questionnaire on the class BBS and
seeing who could give me the most correct answers. This got us "Best project" in
the class (ISQS 3348).
The movie I made for my Intro to Cinema class:
The Thinker (Using Macromedia's Flash 4)
Taking a job listed as "Making a webpage for our department" that was mostly
"washing lab instruments", but finally got to build the website, and learn some
about Macs in the process.
Got a 486 and set up a dual-boot of Win3.1 and Tiny Linux. Going to use it to learn the basics of Linux, something I haven't yet done is connect remotely through telnet or SSH but can ping websites and have learned the basic vi commands.
Ran an ad in my home town's newspaper about doing some "at-home" PC repair. Oddly, after running it for 4 weeks I got more calls AFTER it's cancellation.
The "Occasional Webmaster" for:
College Republicans of Texas Tech University
CollegeRepublicans.com
A personal site at Tripod.com (Now expired)
A personal site at Geocities.com (Now expired)
MilesComer.com
TinyEmpire.com
FunWithGuns.com (Now expired)
A personal HTML playground at WorkSpot.com
I say "occasional webmaster" because constant attention to all these web sites
would definitely leave me no time to do anything else.
